Nephrology Mar 19, 2020
Pilmore HL, Xiong F, Choi Y, et al. - In this study performed on patients with chronic kidney disease (CKD) in the All New Zealand Acute Coronary Syndrome Quality Improvement (ANZACS‐QI) national registry, researchers assessed the characteristics, management as well as outcomes in this patient group, given a link between CKD and an increased risk of cardiovascular disease. The sample analyzed in this study included New Zealand patients experiencing an acute coronary syndrome undergoing coronary angiography between January 2013 and December 2016. Among participants, increased mortality and a high incidence of morbidity was observed in relation to CKD. There is an urgent necessity for initiatives to understand as well as enhance outcomes in this patient group.
