del Puerto C, et al. - The objective herein was to examine the vitamin D Receptor (VDR) immunohistochemical expression in benign dermal nevi (DN) and MM. The findings revealed alterations in VDR expression and localization in MM compared with DN. A link was established between the loss of cytoplasmic VDR with melanoma tumor size. This data indicated that loss of cytoplasmic VDR could serve as a prognostic factor.
