Immunohistochemical analysis of galectins-1, -3, and -7 in periapical granulomas, radicular cysts, and residual radicular cysts
Journal of Endodontics Mar 09, 2018
Brito LNS, et al. - The expressions of galectins-1, -3, and -7 in periapical lesions were assessed by the researchers, correlating them with the intensity of the inflammatory infiltrate and the pattern of the cystic epithelium. An essential role could be played by the galectins-1 and -7 in the pathogenesis of periapical granulomas (PGs), radicular cysts (RCs), and residual radicular cysts (RRCs). Only a minor involvement was found of galectin-3 in the development of these lesions.
