IgG levels in Kawasaki disease and its association with clinical outcomes
Clinical Rheumatology Oct 25, 2018
Yamazaki-Nakashimada MA, et al. - Researchers performed a retrospective analysis to assess pre- and post-IVIG IgG levels and their relation to outcomes by analyzing data of 418 patients with Kawasaki disease (KD) admitted to Tokyo Women’s Medical University Yachiyo Medical Center. By age and total patients, the number of cases and corresponding percentage of non-responders were reported. As well as in other inflammatory conditions, pre- and post-IVIG infusion IgG levels could be an important biomarker in KD. Data reported that higher IgG levels could be related to a more effective immunomodulatory action and correlated with better clinical results.
