Identifying risk factors for cesarean delivery in a predominantly Hispanic teenage population: A 5-year retrospective study
Journal of Pediatric and Adolescent Gynecology May 17, 2018
Oben AG, et al. - The authors sought to determine the risk factors for primary non-elective cesarean delivery, in a predominantly Hispanic teen population (ages 13-19 at the time of delivery) of an urban tertiary care center. They analyzed 958 deliveries, of these, 9.6% delivered by non-elective cesarean. The population was 89% Hispanic with a mean age of 17.7 years. Age, BMI at delivery and birth weight of the neonate were the risk factors which seemed to have a significant association with delivery via cesarean section among adolescent patients.
