Identification of transcriptional signatures of colon tumor stroma by a meta-analysis
Journal of Oncology May 07, 2019
Uddin MN, et al. - Via a meta-analysis of three colon tumor stroma (CTS) gene expression profiles datasets, researchers identified CTS transcriptional features. CTHRC1, NFE2L3, SULF1, SOX9, ENC1, and CCND1 were among the identified significantly upregulated genes, and MYOT, ASPA, KIAA2022, ARHGEF37, BCL-2, and PPARGC1A constituted significantly downregulated genes in CTS compared to colon normal stroma. Prognostic value of many of the differentially expressed genes and their regulators was evident as markers, for colon cancer, including CEBPB, PPARGC1, STAT3, MTOR, BCL2, JAK2, and CDK1. For the better understanding of the tumor microenvironment, the possible utility of the detection of CTS-specific transcriptional signatures was suggested.
