Identification of pathogenic genes and transcription factors in vitiligo
Dermatologic Therapy Jul 19, 2019
Yuan X, et al. - In this investigation, researchers identified the key genes and upstream regulators in vitiligo. An integrated analysis was conducted to screen the pathogenic genes of vitiligo by utilizing the microarray datasets in vitiligo derived from the Gene Expression Omnibus (GEO) database. One thousand eight hundred sixty-three differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified between lesional tissues and non-lesional tissues from two GEO datasets. Findings suggested that PMEL, MLANA, DCT, SOX10, TYRP1 and MC1R can play a role in vitiligo, including FOXJ2 regulating and MC1R. The finding may lead to the development of new potential biomarkers, disclose vitiligo's underlying pathogenesis, and identify new therapeutic goals for vitiligo.
