Pediatric Research Jul 09, 2018
Simental-Mendía LE, et al. - In this population-based cross-sectional population study, the researchers ascertained if hypertriglyceridemia was associated with impaired fasting glucose (IFG) in normal-weight children. For the purpose of this investigation, normal-weight healthy children aged 7–15 years were recruited and allocated into groups with and without hypertriglyceridemia. This study was conducted on 1453 children with an average age of 11.3 ± 2.4 years. It was observed that hypertriglyceridemia was associated with IFG in normal-weight children aged 10–15 years but not in those aged 7–9 years.
