Hyperdynamic left ventricular ejection fraction is associated with increased mortality after kidney transplantation

Journal of Cardiac Failure Aug 25, 2017

Agdamag ACC, et al. – The association between pre–transplant ejection fraction (EF) and mortality among kidney transplant patients, was investigated. In this study, the relationship between EF and mortality among kidney transplantation (KT) patients follow a U-shaped curve where patients with both low EF and hyperdynamic EF had worse survival compared to those with normal EF. These findings suggested not to consider a hyperdynamic EF as a “normal” EF in pre–KT evaluations, it appeared to be poor prognostication marker.
