How accurate are recalls of self-weighing frequency? Data from a 24-month randomized trial

Obesity Aug 09, 2018

Crane MM, et al. - This study draws on data from a 24-month randomized controlled trial to compare self-reported and objective weighing frequency in assessing weight control. Participants received 12 months of a behavioral weight-loss program and were randomly assigned to daily self-weighing, weekly weighing, or no weighing. Researchers reported that self-reported weighing frequency was modestly associated with objective weighing frequency. It was observed that both self-reported and objectively assessed weighing frequency was correlated with weight loss at 12 and 24 months.
