Higher critical shoulder angle and acromion index are associated with increased retear risk after isolated supraspinatus tendon repair at short-term follow up

Arthroscopy Sep 11, 2018

Scheiderer B, et al. - Authors assessed the impact of critical shoulder angle (CSA), acromion index (AI), and glenoid inclination (GI) on the postoperative healing rate following arthroscopic supraspinatus tendon repair. At short-term follow-up, findings suggested a significant increase in the retear risk after arthroscopic supraspinatus tendon repair with higher CSA and AI. Almost 4-fold increase in the retear risk was seen with the CSA >38°. They calculated the overall GI but it did not correlate with failure rate.
