High uric acid-induced epithelial-mesenchymal transition of renal tubular epithelial cells via the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway
American Journal of Nephrology Oct 31, 2017
Liu H, et al. - The researchers investigated if TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway was involved in the epithelial mesenchymal transition (EMT) of renal tubular cells induced by uric acid (UA). Based on the yielded data, the authors concluded that UA could induce EMT in renal tubular epithelial cells through the activation of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway. Moreover, the targeted intervention of the TLR4/NF-κB signaling pathway could effectively inhibit UA-induced renal interstitial fibrosis mediated by EMT.
