High proportion of abnormal pap smear tests and cervical dysplasia in women with cystic fibrosis

Rousset-Jablonski C, et al. - Researchers here investigated the results of cervical screening in adult women with cystic fibrosis (CF), and reported the prevalence of abnormal pap smear tests in this population. they identified abnormal pap smear tests and cervical dysplasia in a high proportion of transplanted and non-transplanted women with CF. They strongly recommended a regular gynaecological follow-up, periodic cervical screening, and routine Human Papilloma Virus vaccination in this population.
