High-fat diet-induced functional and pathological changes in lacrimal gland
American Journal of Pathology Sep 15, 2020
He X, Zhao Z, Wang S, et al. - This study was intended to present high-fat diet-induced functional and pathological changes in the lacrimal gland. A high-fat diet (HFD) experimental mouse model was designed to verify how hyperlipidemia affects lacrimal gland function. The results revealed a HFD induces pathophysiological variations and functional decompensation of the lacrimal gland. Thus, the data considered that the ingestion of an HFD may be a causative factor of dry eye disease.
