Headache outcomes after treatment of unruptured intracranial aneurysm: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Stroke Oct 27, 2019
Dandurand C, Parhar HS, Naji F, et al. - In this systematic review and meta-analysis, data from seven studies that met inclusion criteria (309 nonduplicated individuals) was obtained in order to evaluate headache severity following treatment of the unruptured intracranial aneurysm. No important heterogeneity was seen nor was any notable publication bias shown. This was the first systematic review evaluating postoperative headache severity after the treatment of the unruptured intracranial aneurysm. While a significant decrease in headache severity was seen, before it affects clinical practice, additional research into this phenomenon is suggested. Prospective studies should scale headache outcomes through aneurysm size, location, and treatment modality.
