Handgrip strength values of Portuguese older adults: A population based study

Mendes J, et al. – This study carried out an elucidation of the handgrip strength values of older population aged ≥65 years in Portugal, taking into account the possible influence of anthropometric parameters. It was determined that the handgrip strength was higher among men than among women. The handgrip strength values of the study cohort were described on the basis of age and to sex–specific tertiles of height. The definition of handgrip strength reference values in this age group warranted additional reflection.
