Glomerular function in relation to circulating adhesion molecules and inflammation markers in a general population
Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation Mar 12, 2018
Feng YM, et al. - Whether estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in a general population was related to circulating adhesion molecules, inflammation markers or both, was investigated. An inverse association of eGFR with circulating adhesion molecules vascular adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) and monocyte chemoattractant protein-1 (MCP-1) and several inflammation markers was shown. More accurate detection of patients with eGFR <60 mL/min/1.73 m2 was attained using inflammation markers, in particular tumour necrosis factor receptor 1 and tumour necrosis factor α.
