Gender-specific risk factors for androgenetic alopecia in the Korean general population: Associations with medical comorbidities and general health behaviors

Kim BK, et al. - The target of this trial was to examine the correlations between androgenetic alopecia (AGA) and several risk factors associated with metabolic syndrome on the basis of gender in the Korean general population. The varying mechanisms of AGA probably accounted for the different results according to gender. Findings shed light on a prominent link between hypertension and AGA in male individuals. Interventions for hypertension could be facilitated via blood pressure analysis in male patients with AGA.
