Gastric pyloric gland adenoma: A multicentre clinicopathological study of 67 cases
Histopathology Apr 09, 2018
Choi WT, et al. - The clinicopathological and immunohistochemical characteristics of gastric pyloric gland adenomas (PGAs) were investigated by researchers in 67 cases. The occurrence of PGAs was reported with similar frequency in men and women, with a mean age of 66 years. A rise was noted in the risk of high-grade dysplasia (HGD) alongside the increase in the size of PGA, tubulovillous architecture and the presence of autoimmune gastritis (AIG) as well as mixed immunophenotype. Owing to the overall local recurrence rate being less than 10%, it was deduced that PGAs could be treated conservatively. However, if possible, complete excision was recommended, particularly if they were large or show high-grade features.
