Polychronis G, et al. - Researchers evaluated the galvanic behavior of lingual orthodontic brackets coupled with representative types of orthodontic wires. As indicated by the electrochemical results, all the brackets tested demonstrated galvanic compatibility with stainless steel (SS) wire. However, a cautious use of fluoride treatment was suggested with nickel-titanium wires coupled with gold and SS brackets.
