FUT8 promotes breast cancer cell invasiveness by remodeling TGF-β receptor core fucosylation
Breast Cancer Research Oct 12, 2017
Tu CF, et al. - In this study, researchers used gene expression profiling and western blot to validate the epithelialÂmesenchymal transition (EMT)-associated expression of fucosyltransferase 8 (FUT8). Results exhibited a positive feedback mechanism of FUT8-mediated receptor core fucosylation that promoted transforming growth factor-β (TGF-β) signaling and EMT, thus stimulating breast cancer cell invasion and metastasis.
