Furosemide/fludrocortisone test and clinical parameters to diagnose incomplete distal renal tubular acidosis in kidney stone formers
Clinical Journal of the American Society of Nephrology Aug 09, 2017
Dhayat NA, et al. – Experts conducted this study to assess the effects of furosemide/fludrocortisone test and clinical parameters to diagnose incomplete distal renal tubular acidosis in kidney stone formers. This study suggested the effectiveness of the furosemide/fludrocortisone test for incomplete distal renal tubular acidosis screening in stone formers. However, confirmation was needed for an abnormal furosemide/fludrocortisone test result by ammonium chloride testing. By use of nonprovocative clinical parameters, incomplete distal renal tubular acidosis could reliably be excluded in stone formers
