Fumaric acid esters in combination with a 6-week course of narrow-band UVB provides for an accelerated response as compared to fumaric acid esters monotherapy in patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis: A randomized prospective clinical study
British Journal of Dermatology Nov 11, 2017
Tzaneva S, et al. - The synergistic effect was evaluated of a 6-week course of narrow-band UVB (NB UVB) phototherapy in addition to fumaric acid esters (FAE) in adult patients with moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. During the early phase of treatment, adding a 6-week course of narrow-band UVB to FAE both accelerated and augmented the therapeutic response. This treatment strategy also increased the quality of life in patients with moderate-to-severe plaque psoriasis.
