Politano CA, et al. - Researchers examined how genitourinary syndrome treatment and sexual function in postmenopausal women are influenced by fractional 2 laser"> CO2 laser therapy vs promestriene and vaginal lubricants. In this randomized clinical trial, 72 postmenopausal women, over the age of 50 years, were randomized to receive either three sessions of intravaginal fractional 2 laser"> CO2 laser therapy or 10 mg of intravaginal promestriene cream 3 times a week or vaginal lubricant application alone. Outcomes revealed the achievement of better short-term effects in genitourinary syndrome with respect to improving the vaginal health in postmenopausal women in correlation to the use of fractional 2 laser"> CO2 laser therapy vs using promestriene or lubricant.
