Four-year observation of the changes in corneal endothelium cell density and correlated factors after Implantable Collamer Lens V4c implantation
British Journal of Ophthalmology Apr 16, 2021
Yang W, Zhao J, Sun L, et al. - In this retrospective, consecutive study, researchers assessed the changes in corneal endothelium cell density (ECD) and the correlated factors after Implantable Collamer Lens (ICL) V4c implantation. Twenty-five patients (48 eyes) with myopia who underwent ICL V4c implantation were selected. All surgeries were performed safely, and there were no complications during the follow-up period (average 52 ± 2.9 months). For myopia correction, ICL V4c implantation is both safe and effective. Anterior segment biometric parameters such as the vault, ACA, and C-ICL may influence ECD changes; specifically, the vault plays a significant role.
