Focal lamina cribrosa defect in myopic eyes with non-progressive glaucomatous visual field defect
American Journal of Ophthalmology Mar 22, 2018
Sawada Y, et al. - Authors herein sought to investigate the focal lamina cribrosa (LC) defect that spatially corresponded to the non-progressive glaucomatous visual field defect (VFD) in myopic subjects. Findings suggested a significant association between the presence of LC defect and non-progressive VFD. The locations of LC defect and of VFD corresponded spatially to each other. Lower baseline intraocular pressure (IOP) and smaller percent of IOP change were exhibited by the non-progressive eyes with LC defect vs those without LC defect, but with greater myopic optic disc deformation.
