Fluticasone furoate/vilanterol vs fluticasone propionate in patients with asthma and exercise-induced bronchoconstriction
Journal of Asthma Mar 01, 2019
Martin N, et al. - In patients with asthma and exercise-induced bronchoconstriction, researchers ascertained if once-daily (OD) fluticasone furoate (FF)/vilanterol (VI) provides greater long-term protection from post-exercise fall in forced expiratory volume in 1 s (FEV1) vs twice-daily (BD) fluticasone propionate (FP). Study participants included patients aged 12–50 years on low-/mid-dose maintenance inhaled corticosteroid. The investigators did not find any difference between FF/VI and FP in providing long-term protection against bronchoconstriction induced by exercise.
