Fluorescence microscopy for the evaluation of elastic tissue patterns within fibrous proliferations of the skin on hematoxylin-eosin-stained slides
Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology Jan 17, 2018
Borucki R, et al. - Researchers attempted to analyze the utility of fluorescence microscopy for the assessment of elastic patterns on hematoxylin-eosin (H&E) stained slides in the diagnosis of fibrous tumors. Findings illustrated that this method was useful in distinguishing dermatofibroma (DF) vs dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) and also dermatomyofibroma (DMF) vs other fibrous tumors. Hence, fluorescence microscopy was discovered to be a cheap and efficient technique for the additional delineation of these tumors.
