Fetal isovolumetric time intervals as a marker of abnormal cardiac function in fetal anemia from homozygous alpha thalassemia-1 disease

Prenatal Diagnosis Aug 16, 2017

Tongprasert F, et al. – This article was written with the objective to figure out if fetal isovolumetric time intervals can be an early sonographic marker of fetal anemia in fetuses with homozygous alpha thalassemia–1. Isovolumetric contraction time (ICT) was significantly prolonged in fetal anemia from homozygous alpha thalassemia–1 amid the early stage of hydropic changes. Due to its simple measurement and high efficaciousness, ICT can be a helpful marker for prenatal screening of abnormal cardiac function in fetal anemia.
