Fetal fibronectin test for threatened preterm delivery 48h after admission: Cost-effectiveness study
European Journal of Obstetrics & Gynecology and Reproductive Biology Feb 23, 2019
Mourgues C, et al. - Researchers investigated whether performing the fetal fibronectin (fFN) test at 48 h after admission for threatened preterm delivery is cost-effective to promote early discharge. The incremental cost-effectiveness ratio (ICER) was calculated in this before-and-after study performed including 178 pregnant patients 48 h after admission in a tertiary care center with threatened preterm delivery between 24+0 and 34+6 weeks. Outcomes support performing fFN test at 48 h after admission for early discharge. Furthermore, this test was identified to be safe and cost-effective.
