Ewe SY, et al. - Researchers undertook an appraisal of the current evidence on the clinical and safety outcomes for femtosecond laser-assisted cataract surgery (FLACS) in comparison to phacoemulsification cataract surgery (PCS). It was noted that FLACS could be non-inferior to conventional PCS with regard to the safety and clinical outcomes. FLACS, however, was yet to demonstrate an overall cost–benefit to the patient.
