Fatigue failure load of an adhesively-cemented lithium disilicate glass-ceramic: Conventional ceramic etching vs etch & prime one-step prime

Scherer MM, et al. - Experts assessed the impact of different glass-ceramic surface treatments and ageing on the fatigue failure load of a lithium disilicate glass-ceramic adhesively cemented to a dentin analogue material. The staircase approach determined the fatigue failure load. Best fatigue performance for an adhesively-cemented lithium disilicate ceramic was demonstrated with hydrofluoric acid followed by silane application. For all tested groups, the fatigue performance was negatively influenced by ageing.
