Factors associated with overactive bladder symptom improvement after 1 year of monthly percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation therapy
Neurourology and Urodynamics May 24, 2019
Pincus J, et al. - Researchers performed a retrospective chart review of 66 women who underwent percutaneous tibial nerve stimulation (PTNS) for refractory overactive bladder (OAB) symptoms for patient characteristics correlated with OAB symptom improvement after 1 year of monthly PTNS therapy. Outcomes revealed that after 12 monthly treatments of PTNS, OAB symptoms remain relatively stable as compared with the 12-week time point. They noted negative predictive value of a history of urogynecologic surgery for OAB symptom improvement in patients receiving monthly PTNS for at least 12 months.
