Factors associated with molar–incisor hypomineralisation in schoolchildren aged 8–10 years: A case–control study

International Journal of Paediatric Dentistry Jul 25, 2018

Dantas-Neta NB, et al. - Experts sought to verify the factors correlated with hypomineralisation (MIH) in schoolchildren from 8 to 10 years of age. They conducted a case–control study with a sample consisting of children aged 8 to 10 years, paired by gender and school type, in a ratio of 1:3. Findings suggested an association of the presence of fever during pregnancy and the need for treatment with MIH. They noted that 19.5% was the prevalence of mild MIH, moderate MIH 2.2% and severe MIH 3.2%.
