Factors associated with atypical postoperative drift following surgery for consecutive exotropia

Journal of AAPOS Sep 08, 2017

Maxfield SD, et al. - The correlations of clinical and surgical factors with atypical postoperative drift was comprehensively analyzed, following surgery for consecutive exotropia. It was illustrated that approximately half of patients displayed atypical drift following unilateral surgery for consecutive exotropia, with larger preoperative distance exodeviation related to exodrift and non-normal medial rectus muscle status with esodrift. The comprehension of these correlations could assist in counseling patients regarding surgical outcomes.
