Curtis E, et al. - The intent here was to identify the correlations between admission markers of socioeconomic status, transitioning, bridging programme attendance and prior academic preparation on the academic outcomes for indigenous Maori, Pacific and rural students admitted into medicine under access pathways. The admission variables and academic outcomes exhibited varying link, across the three admission pathways. Equity-targeted admission programmes inclusive of variations in academic threshold for entry possibly supported a widening participation agenda. Further academic and pastoral supports were, nevertheless, warranted.
