Mogaddam MR, et al. - Authors, herein, discerned the serum Zinc level in patients with melasma compared to healthy individuals. A prominent association was brought to the limelight, between low levels of Zinc and melasma. Findings pointed towards the possible involvement of Zinc deficiency in the pathogenesis of melasma. Treatment with oral Zinc supplements could be tried in these patients in order to observe the outcome. Advanced studies were nevertheless required, for making recommendations on screening for Zinc deficiency in patients with melasma.
