Evaluation of the effect of daily activities on intraocular pressure in healthy people: Is the 20 mmHg border safe?

Baser G, et al. – The objective here was to determine the intraocular pressure (IOP) changes during daily activities, for instance, reading, speaking and carrying in terms of ascertaining if an elevation or decrease existed. Unstable IOP was reported during daily activities. Simple actions such as carrying or speaking exhibited an increasing effect on IOP. This had to be regarded in glaucoma patients during control measurements, particularly in patients, in whom the IOP was near to the 20 mmHg border.
