Evaluation of changes in skin and joint outcomes and associated treatment changes in psoriatic arthritis (PsA): Experience from the Corrona PsA/SpA Registry
The Journal of Rheumatology Mar 05, 2021
Mease PJ, Etzel CJ, Huster WJ, et al. - In the present study, the researchers sought to describe skin severity and joint activity outcomes and associated treatment changes in patients with psoriatic arthritis (PsA) through 12 months of follow-up after enrollment in the Corrona Psoriatic Arthritis/Spondyloarthritis (PsA/SpA) Registry. Between March 21, 2013, and September 30, 2016, patients ≥ 18 years of age (n = 647) with a diagnosis of PsA and a history of psoriasis were registered. Compared with patients who reduced therapy or had no therapy changes, those who increased therapy were more likely to have an improvement in joint activity. The clinical implications for the findings suggest that the assessment and integration of both the skin and the joint components may be advisable.
