Evaluation of carboxytherapy and platelet-rich plasma in treatment of periorbital hyperpigmentation: A comparative clinical trial
Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology Jan 12, 2018
Nofal E, et al. - This trial was formulated in order to gauge and compare the efficacy and safety of two new modalities in the treatment of periorbital hyperpigmentation (POH) (platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and the carboxytherapy). Both the therapies were discovered to be relatively effective, demonstrating comparable efficacy. When compared to PRP, carboxytherapy was determined to be a simple and slightly more effective modality and was well tolerated. Hence, both modalities were deduced to be promising but not the ideal solutions of the POH problem which was the result of multifactorial etiology.
