Evaluation of carboxymethylcellulose sodium + glycerin, (Optive) in ocular discomfort after anti-vascular endothelial growth factor intravitreal injection therapy: A prospective study
Ophthalmologica Nov 02, 2020
Karcenty M, Jung C, Souied EH, et al. - Researchers conducted this prospective study to assess the effectiveness of a mix of carboxymethylcellulose and glycerin (Optive) after intra-vitreal injection therapy (IVT) with anti-vascular endothelial growth factor for reducing ocular discomfort in patients. Patients who were naïve of any IVT were prospectively involved. The sample consisted of 45 patients (mean age 72.3 years [range 23-94], 25 females). Following IVT, most patients felt ocular discomfort. For more than half of the patients, instillation of Optive significantly alleviated the feeling of grittiness.
