Evaluation and quantification of treatment preferences for patients with asthma or COPD using discrete choice experiment surveys

Svedsater H, et al. - In this current study, researchers determined treatment preferences of patients with asthma or chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Using previously identified influential treatment factors, a discrete choice experiment (DCE) survey was developed. With respect to treatment options and future therapy development, the eight treatment attributes, ranked by asthma or COPD patients, should be essentially taken into account by healthcare professionals. In addition, DCE results broadly reinforced the findings from qualitative interviews in the first study phase.
