Evaluating the effect of intravitreal ranibizumab on retrobulbar hemodynamics by color Doppler ultrasonography in neovascular AMD
Ophthalmic Surgery, Lasers and Imaging Jul 31, 2019
Raza S, et al. - In patients with neovascular age-related macular degeneration (AMD), researchers assessed changes in retrobulbar blood flow by using color Doppler ultrasonography (CDUS) following intravitreal ranibizumab (0.05 mg/0.05 mL) injection. Participants in the study were 18 patients (mean age was 66.94 years) who had undergone intravitreal ranibizumab injection due to choroidal neovascular membrane (CNVM). They also analyzed contralateral eyes of the patients. In patients with CNVM, ocular blood flow velocities might change after intravitreal ranibizumab injection. No statistically significant differences were found in other parameters.
