Etiology and renal outcomes of acute tubulointerstitial nephritis: A single-center prospective cohort study in China

Su T, et al. – The etiology, long–term renal outcomes and affecting factors of acute tubulointerstitial nephritis (ATIN) were investigated. It was observed that autoimmune–related ATIN seemed to present with systemic manifestations after kidney injury. Therefore, it was commonly misdiagnosed. In patients with ATIN, repeated kidney injury was not uncommon. Hence, this study suggested the importance of scheduled follow–up for defining the exact etiology and proper management of ATIN.
