Etiology and renal outcomes of acute tubulointerstitial nephritis: A single-center prospective cohort study in China
Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation Jul 05, 2018
Su T, et al. - Researchers assessed the etiology, long-term renal outcomes and affecting factors of acute tubulointerstitial nephritis (ATIN) in patients with biopsy-proven ATIN from Peking University First Hospital, with follow-up for at least 24 months. Findings revealed that following kidney injury, presentations of autoimmune-related ATIN with systemic manifestations may be documented and therefore, this disease entity is commonly misdiagnosed. Not uncommonly, patients with ATIN developed repeated kidney injury. Therefore, for defining the exact etiology and proper management of ATIN, it is critical to perform scheduled follow-up.
