Forte R, et al. - The proposition evaluated here was that oral supplementation of the epilutein/lutein combination could augment the macular pigment optical density (MPOD) in patients with age-related macular degeneration (AMD). An increased MPOD displayed a tie-up with the administration of lutein in combination with epilutein compared to the administration of lutein alone, in patients with early-stage AMD.
