Efficacy of photodynamic therapy for the treatment of inflammatory acne vulgaris: A systematic review and meta-analysis

Tang X, et al. - In this systematic review and meta-analysis involving 701 patients, researchers tested the safety and impact of photodynamic therapy (PDT) on treating acne vulgaris. The current meta-analysis included a total of 13 randomized controlled trials. In terms of the results of mean percentage reduction in the inflammatory lesion count and total effective response, PDT had some effect on acne vulgaris. According to results, PDT improves the therapeutic effectiveness of inflammatory acne vulgaris, which can be commonly used in clinical treatment for inflammatory acne vulgaris.
