Efficacy of non-fovea-sparing ILM peeling for symptomatic myopic foveoschisis with and without macular hole
British Journal of Ophthalmology May 04, 2018
Al-Badawi AH, et al. - Experts studied the anatomical and visual outcomes of pars plana vitrectomy (PPV) with non-fovea-sparing (entire) internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling in eyes with myopic foveoschisis (MF). Significant functional and anatomical improvement was observed with vitrectomy with non-fovea-sparing (entire) ILM peeling in eyes with MF with/without macular hole (MH) with no reported complications. Authors noted the results to be comparable to fovea-sparing ILM peeling. For visual gain, preoperative BCVA was a significant risk factor, while preoperative foveal detachment (FD) and central foveal thickness (CFT) were significant for CFT change.
