The Pediatric Infectious Disease Journal Nov 16, 2020
He Y, et al. - Researchers examined the efficacy and safety of pegylated interferon (PEG-IFN) for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B in children and adolescents via performing a systematic review and meta-analysis. Searching databases including MEDLINE/PubMed, Ovid-EMbase, the Cochrane Library and China National Knowledge Internet, they identified a total of 10 clinical trials involving 658 patients. Findings support PEG-IFN as effective for treating hepatitis B in children and adolescents; treatment discontinuation due to serious adverse events was reported as infrequent.
