Zamboni P, et al. - The efficacy and safety of venous percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) were investigated in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) and chronic cerebrospinal venous insufficiency (CCSVI). The researchers found venous PTA to be a safe but largely ineffective technique. This treatment could not be recommended in patients with MS.
